Around late 1993 or early 1994, a game came out that rocked the computer game market. It featured an immersive environment filled with puzzles, mystery and intrigue. This game was Myst, now a classic and somewhat historic game. It captivated legions of adventure and puzzle game fanatics, yet it annoyed some gamers because they felt it was too vague, challenging and boring. Still, it was one of the most widely known and most talked about games ever to hit the shelves. And now it has a sequel.
Riven is much like its predecessor. In it you must rescue Catherine, who has been enslaved somewhere in Riven. To do this you will be required to immerse yourself into the vast world which features even more detailed graphics, more complex and challenging puzzles and a longer gaming experience. You'll travel to many exotic locations, such as dark caves and glorious forests and beaches. The game is, like Myst completely non-linear, meaning you can do anything you want to do. There's also a more complete sense of a story, thanks to nicely done FMV sequences. Fans of Myst, prepare yourselves for an all new adventure.
From the Manufacturer: Riven is the sequel to the original Myst. Its all about the ending of the first Myst game. When you win the original game, Atrus says he needs your help in the future. You must trap Atrus' father, Gehn to save Catherine before you can leave Riven. Find out more of the future by investigating the past.
Game Special Features: Variety of challenging puzzles and characters, huge worlds of clear and detailed 3D rendered graphics, three hours of animated scenes.
