Without changing any of the traditional rules, Battlegammon offers 2D and fully 3D boards, six different styles of pieces, three different sets, and a number of play features such as save games, gambling and a "take back" option. It also contains three three-dimensional settings (Gothic Castle Sphere, Desert Canyon Sphere and Space Pod Wreckage Sphere), as well as a number of various animations to represent piece captures. Multi-player is available via "hot seat" play and the single-player mode includes three difficulty levels for players of varying skills. A short but concise manual explains the rules of traditional Backgammon, offers basic tips and includes information on the scoring and gambling aspects of Battlegammon.
